The Addo Elephant Park lies deep within the shadows of the dense valley bushveld of the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape. Here, the evenings are punctuated by the strident howl of the black-backed jackal, and the francolin’s call heralds each new dawn. Safe from relentless persecution in the past, the grey leviathans of the bush now roam in peace.
Experiencing the densest population of elephants in the world.
Spot other animals such as lions, Cape buffalo’s, black rhinos, zebras, jackals, warthogs, suricates and numerous species of antelopes.
One of the major triumphs of the Addo Elephant Park is being very much at one with the local surroundings, attempting to reduce the impact it’s tourism has on the local surroundings whilst protecting its animal inhabitants.
Addo Elephant Park is home to the densest population of elephants in the world. More than 450 of these lumbering, intelligent mammals reside here, in large family groups led by a matriarchal female. Imagine your Grandmother being in charge of the family and you will start to understand the elephant social structure. Apart from elephants, other mammals in Addo include lion, the endangered Cape buffalo and black rhino, as well as zebra, jackal, warthog, meerkat and numerous species of antelope.
Your will spend the best part of your day exploring the vast Addo Elephant National Park with a break for lunch either at main camp for their shop or restaurant, or if you come prepared then choose from one of the many picnic areas around the park.

We did 4 private tours with African Blue Tours organized by David Smith and his team:
1) City tour of Cape Town and Table Mountain
2) Wineland Tour
3) Addo Elephant Park (to/from Port Elizabeth)
4) Johannesburg, including Apartheid Museum
All tours and guides were excellent. David was very responsive and knowledgable when we planned the tours beforehand. We had a wonderful experience and we do appreciate the excellent job David`s Team did. Well done & Thank you.
