Terms and Conditions
- Our packages are operated on a 100% private basis (other than when staying at safari lodges), ensuring social distancing and complete flexibility.
- All departure and arrival times are approximate, we will confirm details at the time of booking.
- Luggage & personal possessions are carried at your own risk. African Blue Tours accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to luggage and personal possessions of passengers.
- Please ensure that valuables & travel documents are kept safe at all times.
- We recommend clients take out adequate travel insurance and highly recommend the “cancel for any reason” option.
- Payment – Day Tours:
Payment is to be made in full and cleared into our account no later than 30 days prior to tour departure. Payment is accepted via electronic funds transfer (EFT), Paypal, credit card or cash in South African Rands (ZAR), unless alternative arrangements have been made. - Payment – Tour & Safari Packages:
A non-refundable 30% deposit is required and the balance is to be settled 2 months prior to arrival and payable via electronic funds transfer (EFT), unless otherwise arranged. .
We may have to impose more stringent payment and cancellation terms, should that be demanded of us by any of our individual suppliers that have been included in your itinerary.
The tour price is always fixed in the currency quoted, and the actual cost in the other currencies will be adjusted according to prevailing exchange rates at the time of final invoicing (payments can be made either in USD or ZAR). We use the exchange rate of the day with a 3% margin (the typical exchange rate applied by credit card companies), using this source: http://www.oanda.com – the currency quoted is plugged into the “Currency I Want” and the INTERBANK +/- is adjusted to 3% automatically generating the rate of the day. Guests are given 7 days to process with wire, after which we may need to update the exchange rate. - “No Shows” will be charged 100% of the quoted tour/safari package price.
- Cancellations 0 to 30 days prior to tour/safari departure: 100% cancellation fee will be charged.
- Cancellations 30 to 60 days prior to tour/safari departure: 30% cancellation fee will be charged, plus any additional charges levied by suppliers up to the date of cancellation.
- Cancellations 60 days or more prior to tour/safari departure: 0% cancellation fee will be charged, plus any additional charges levied by suppliers up to the date of cancellation.
- Refund due to an activity cancellation: 10% cancellation fee will be charged.
- Our packages can be rescheduled for another date at no extra charge, subject to the availability of a tourist guide, vehicle and supplier inventory, however, may be subject to rate fluctuations due to the delay in dates.
- For tours/safaris that include services of certain suppliers with more stringent policies, e.g. SanParks, Hotel Chains, Blue Train, Rovos Rail, Private Lodges and others, different cancellation fees will be enforceable. These will be provided when applicable.
- The non-issuing of an invoice or non-payment of a deposit will not exempt travellers from these cancellation terms.
- Refunds may incur a 10% admin fee of the refundable amount (see above) to cover transaction and administration costs.
- The client indemnifies and holds African Blue Travel CC / their agents harmless against all claims for damage, loss and injury which any traveller may claim against African Blue Travel CC / their agents if such claim is excluded in terms hereof.
- All cancellation percentages refer to the total booking value.
- Company Sub-contracts – African Blue Travel CC / their agents reserve the right to sub-contract in case of an emergency, and when this right is exercised the substitute vehicle will, as far as circumstances permit, compare equally with African Blue Travel CC / their agent’s vehicles. If such a vehicle is not acquired, it remains the customer’s right to obtain a vehicle to his own standard and cost. In the event of African Blue Travel CC / their agents sub-contracting a vehicle, it is agreed that the substituted vehicle operator shall act as an independent contractor, not subject to the control of African Blue Travel CC / their agents. It shall be decreed that the customer and the sub-contracted vehicle operator entered into a contract of hire and that the customer indemnifies African Blue Travel CC / their agents against any claim for damage or otherwise resulting from the driving of the substituted vehicle.
- A child of 12 years and older will be charged the full applicable adult per person rate on all services provided.
- Children who occupy their own room will be charged the full applicable per adult sharing rate.
- Certain camps, lodges and hotels generally refuse to accept children under 12/16 years old.
- On certain game drives in open safari vehicles, there is a minimum age requirement of 8 years old.
