  We had the pleasure of spending two days with David in and around Cape Town. On day 1 he took our group of 7 on a tour of three wineries in Paarl and Stellenbosch. It was a fantastic mix of large garden estates, boutique wineries, and world class dining with wine tasting. David’s knowledge of the area is second to none. As a lifelong resident of the Cape and a tour guide for 20+ years, we got a very thorough education about the region, culture, history, and politics. On day 2 we did the traditional cape tour as well as some of his personal favorite spots like a quaint seaside town and a fabulous oceanfront lunch.

We have done professional guides in other countries and can confidently say that David is the best of the best. Highly recommend African Blue Tours.

  Last month, I went on a tour organized by African Blue Tours. It was excellent! David helped me to organize a small half day group tour of Cape Town for 11 people. His advice on how best to use the half day was very knowledgeable. We had a great city tour that included Table Mountain, the Bo Kaap area and District Six. It was a really personalized experience, everything ran smoothly and professionally. Our guide Matthew was wonderful - very professional and friendly and very knowledgeable about the city, answering all questions. He kept the group moving and engaged and we had a great day.
I had such a great experience on the small group tour that two days later, I booked an individual tour again through David and African Blue Tours with Matthew as my guide. I had the chance to do the Cape Peninsula tour individually which meant my time felt fluid and I did not feel pressed to hurry through the different places I visited which included seeing the African Penguins, Cape of Good Hope and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens among other stops during the full day. Matthew shared from his own experience of Cape Town which meant I got the chance to see the city through the eyes of someone who loves and knows the city. I had a wonderful and memorable experience.

  South Africa has been our dream destination for years and finally we managed to arrange the flight tickets. However due the security concerns, we decided it was best to work with a reputable agency instead of travelling alone.
I started searching for alternatives, prepared a short list of 3 and after the initial emails and phone calls with all three, African Blue Tours was indeed my favorite. David was patient, responsive and he understood what we wanted. It took him only few days to tailor the itinerary and we were ready to go!
When David offered to arrange the hotel bookings, I had some second thoughts -we are really picky when it comes to the hotels- but he did a fantastic job for this as well. We stayed in wonderful places, and if he had not helped, we would not have found these options.
Our guide Matthew was also excellent. He was a good guide, a great driver and based on his fantastic recommendations, we saw great places, drank great coffee, had great food! We stretched the daily plans, we made changes on the fly and he was always patient and ready to roll.

  David organised a fantastic 3 days for us in Cape Town, a city tour and some vineyards, a hike up table mountain and a trip out to hermanus with a wine visit, david made some great suggestions during the booking process and we felt confident on arrival in Cape Town that we would have a well organised three days, david led us for our hike and Karen for our 2 touring days, both were fantastic and shared a huge amount of knowledge with us without overloading us
Would definitely recommend African blue to anyone visiting and would recommend just leaving you full itinerary on David’s hands!

  We have just returned from South Africa , our trip of a lifetime . We used African Blue to organise our 16 day itinerary . From the outset communication with David was perfect and we knew he had organised a wonderful,  bespoke two weeks of touring from Capetown, following the Garden route and finishing on safari in Kariega . The trip surpassed all our expectations , it was beyond first class all the way ! Every day was brilliantly organised and our tour guide Matt was absolutely outstanding , highly knowledgable , professional and all round jolly good company . He knew exactly where to take us to the best spots ahead of the crowds . If you are heading to Capetown African Blue is a MUST . The company and staffs’ attention to detail is wonderful and you are assured of an exceptional and high quality trip .   We visited Cape Town June 2023 and had the pleasure of having Matthew from African Blue Tours guide us (4 adults and 2 teenagers ). Matthew was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient. He was also an excellent driver. When weather presented a curve ball he adjusted course and came up with alternate suggestions to ensure we had an unforgettable time.   If you are looking for customized touring at its best African Blue Tours is the only operator to trust.  I only had one day in Cape Town and I was not disappointed. I opted for a bit of adventure and my guide David exceeded expectations starting with surfing with a guide locals trust to hiking on table mountain.
