Tree Mopane Savanna

This terrain on Ecca Shales has flat lands but gradually develop slops .Tall Tree Mopane, Tamboti and Magic Guarri grow in multilayered soils.

Limpopo Valley Rugged Veld

Limpopo Valley Rugged Veld

Slopped land on basalt and calcrete pebble beds are uncovered by the slit of the Limpopo, Luvuvuhu and Shingwedzi valleys. Corkwood genus, Mopane, Purple-pod Cluster-Leaf, Red Bushwillow, Lebombo-ironwood, Lebombo Euphoria and Boabab trees grow in the low clayed soil.

Mixed Tree Mopane/Knob-thorn Savanna/Red Bushwillow Bushveld

Mixed Tree Mopane

The land here is flat with a slight slope. Within the area, there are Mopane, Knob-thorn Acacia, Red Bushwillow, Round-leaved Bloodwood and Magic Guarri growing in a variety of soils.

Alluvial Plains

Alluvial Plains

Affluent soils are placed close to the Shingwedzi and Luvuhu Rivers. Floodplains allow for Ana-trees, Sycomere Figs, Nyala-trees, Southern Lala-plams, Natal Mahogany and Fever-tree and Umbrella Acacia to grow in abundance

Mixed Bushwillow Woodlands

Mixed Bushwillow Woodlands

Here one will find Silver Cluster-leaf and Large-fruited and Red Bushwillows. The lands are vast with Magic Guarri, Russet Bushwillow and Scented-pod, Red and sticky Acacias.

Pretoriuskop Sourveld

Pretoriuskop Sourveld

This lush land is vast in vegetation. Silver Cluster leaf, Sickle-bush, Large-fruited Bushwillow, Marula, Kiaat, Bloodwood and African olives are among the species.

Malelane Mountain Bushveld

Malelane Mountain Bushveld

Red, Weeping Russet and Fruited Bushwillows, Wild Pear, Mountain Kirkia and Rockfig sweep the area. Stream banks are filled with African olives.

Sabie River Thickets

Sabie River Thickets

Here the shallow rich soils are imbedded by Red Bushwillows, Raisin Bushes and Flaky Bark Acacia. Magic Guarri, Scented-pod Acacias, Tamboti and Horned Thorn species grow at the shallow embankments.

Bangu Stunted Knob-thorn Savanna

Bangu Stunted Knob-thorn Savanna

Here the gentle sloped land on basalt, with the growing of Knob-thorn Acacia, Sickle-bush and Russet Bushwillow allow for growth from the deep black clay soil.

Crocodile River Thickets

Crocodile River Thickets

Rocky plains are scattered with Red Bushwillow, White-leaved Raisin, Marula, Knob Thorn and Flakey-bark Acacia. Tree savanna is noticeable by dark clay soils.

Pumbe Sandveld

Pumbe Sandveld

The land is cut on the edges. One will find vegetation such as, Silver Cluster-leaf, Kudu-berry, Large-Fruited Bushwillow and Pod-mahogany.

Marula, Knob-thorn Open Tree Savanna

Marula, Knob-thorn Open Tree Savanna

Southern Basalt and Gabbro plains are made up of red clay soil. Marula, Knob-thorn Acacia, Leadwood, Sickle-bush, Russet Bushwillow and Round-leaved Bloodwood engulf the area.

Delagoa Thorn Thickets

Delagoa Thorn Thickets

This ecological area is double layered and consists of sodic clay soils. The land consists of Delagoa Acacia, Magic Guarri, Tamboti, Sickle-bush and Albizia. All the vegetation in this area is short stemmed.

Mopane/Red Bushwillow Woodlands

Mopane/Red Bushwillow Woodlands

In this area hard stone and woodlands on crests in low granular terrains are Red Bushwillows and Mopane. Shrubveld can also be found along the multilayered soils.

Riverine Areas

Riverine Areas

These are extremely wooded areas. The area offers shading from the trees and vines. River Bushwillow, Matumi, Weeping Boerbean, Ebony Jackal-berry, Russet, Bushwillow, Sausage trees, River Acacia and Sycomore Fig vegetation fill the landscape.

Southern Lebombo Mountain Bushveld

Southern Lebombo Mountain Bushveld

The Red Bushwillow, Round-leaved Bloodwood, Knob-thorn Acacia and Sickle-bush thrive in the rocky soil of the rhyolite hills.

Punda Maria Sandveld

Punda Maria Sandveld

Here the slopping of the hills and lush valleys on Soutpansberg sandstone and quaritze.
Burkea, Pod-mahogany, Silver Cluster-leaf and Kudu-berry are found in this area, where the soil is sandy.

Mopane Shrubveld

Mopane Shrubveld

Within northern basalt and Gabbro plains one will see, Mopane, Leadwood, Bushwillow, and Sickle-bush. Close to the Letaba and Shingwedzi river valleys the scenery is gently sloped.

Northern Lebombo Mountain Bushveld

Northern Lebombo Mountain Bushveld

This soil is rocky and gives rise to Red Bushwillow and Mopane.

Balule Rolling Plains

Balule Rolling Plains

Growing on basalt, close to the Olifants River, grows Red Bushwillow, Knob-thorn Acacia, Purple-pod Clusterleaf and White-leaved Raisin.

Nwambia Sandveld Thickets

Nwambia Sandveld Thickets

The lands are cut on the edges, one will find Sand Camwood, Small False Mopane, Wing-pod, Red Bushwillow and Stink-bushwillow. The terrain becomes clayey towards the west with the Mopane Savanna tree.
