Duncan PetrieTourist Guide

Originally from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg Duncan decided to take a change of pace and was fortunate enough to start his career in the South African tourism industry by working in a private game lodge within the Greater Kruger Park area.

Working his way up to a safari guide, he quickly discovered the joy and pride of being able to present this amazing country with all its natural beauty, intricate history and culturally rich people to visitors from all over the world. With both a huge passion for nature together with South African history, he relocated to the Western Cape to further his career and qualified as a tourist guide a short while later.

Cape Town, being our oldest and Mother City of Africa and host to breathtaking geographical landscapes, mountain ranges, two oceans and many national parks, provides the wide ranging variety of experiences for Duncan to really excel in the outdoors .

In his own words … “I feel honoured and privileged to be able to present this absolute gem of a land to my clients, always delivered with excitement detailing South Africa`s days gone and of course I can’t help sharing my knowledge of its fantastic fauna & flora when spotting a few birds, interesting plants or wildlife on tour.”

We spent two and a half days with Duncan from the African Blue Day Tours. My husband and I felt we know Capetown very well after spending time with Duncan. We went almost everywhere and even the scenic ride in the mountains and the back roads. Duncan was punctual, polite, courteous, attentive, always asked if we needed to use the bathroom and at each stops he always let us know where the bathrooms were. Duncan was very knowledgeable and he gave us the history and details of the places we were visiting and we had some very good conversations. We felt very comfortable with Duncan.
Duncan was an excellent tour guide and we could not have asked for more. We will definitely recommend African Blue Day Tours to anyone we know who is going to Capetown and have Duncan as their tour guide.
