Itinerary

We visit the eerie battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, and let your imagination paint mental pictures of the battle scenes played out here. Your accredited Battlefields guide will regale stories of two quite similar battles but with very different outcomes, it’s incredible to picture the characters and carnage of this frontier campaign. Learn about the context and preceding movements of the two armies and the tactical decision that played a big part in the different outcomes.

Our tour includes a visit to three different museums in the area and lunch, we will wind our way home thereafter through some of the most spectacular scenery in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Good morning David,
Hope all is well with you, we’ve returned back to UK safe and sound, just dropping you line on behalf of the group and myself, to thank you for a truly fantastic days tour.
We were all gripped from start to finish and certainly learned a lot that day.
We all agreed that Colin our guide and driver was excellent. A knowledgeable, courteous, considerate gentleman.( I don’t think there’s anything he does not know!)
He is certainly a credit and and an asset to your company/operation, please pass this on to him on our behalf.
Many thanks again for making our trip to South Africa even more memorable.
Kindest regards
Colin and the gang

I recently went on a wonderful tour from Durban to the Anglo-Zulu Battlefields. The drive up through cane fields and winding mountain roads was quite beautiful. My guide, Ernie, told me about the history of the region and the 1870s military campaigns, contrasting this with the strategies one learns in the South African Army. After this it was fascinating to walk around Isandlwana and Rourke’s Drift. I’m from the USA and I feel like I got to see so much more of South Africa through this tour.
