Project Description

Safari Description

An affordable 3 day Kruger Safari exploring both the Greater Kruger and the Satara region within Kruger National Park, including a quick visit to Blyde River Canyon on the Panorama Route before returning to Johannesburg. This safari takes place in the Greater Kruger National Park which runs along the unfenced western border of the Kruger National Park and offers the same excellent African safari experience as the game is able to flow freely through the bush into these areas.

Itinerary

We collect from most hotels, guest houses, private homes or OR Tambo Airport and drive in an air-conditioned vehicle via the Highveld farmlands to the picturesque Lowveld and your Private Lodge in the Great Kruger National Park. You may rest in your air-conditioned chalet, have a quick refreshing dip in the pool, unwind at the bar or relax in the beautiful gardens. At around 17h00 we board the open Landcruiser for an exciting Big Five Sunset Drive. Your qualified guide will facilitate your first thrilling opportunity to experience the varied African fauna and flora. Watch the magnificent African sunset, and after darkness falls, use powerful spotlights to locate nocturnal animals.
Today we explore the Kruger National Park in a custom-built open-sided vehicle which allows for a total wildlife experience – you will not only have time to view game, but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens. The absence of windows and elevated position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. The Orpen/Satara region of the park has the greatest concentration of animals in the whole of Kruger with sightings of the Big Five virtually guaranteed. You will have a great day of game-viewing and bird-watching in this truly outstanding wildlife paradise.
Enjoy an early morning one hour Sunrise Drive on the open Land cruiser for your last chance to spot game and then after a hearty breakfast, we depart for a quick detour along the famous Panorama Route visiting the awesome Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondawels. We return to Johannesburg in the late afternoon. Airport drop off by arrangement.
Chalet in a Private 3 star Lodge, which has simple furnishings. This is certainly not a luxury safari camp, but a good budget friendly option with emphasis on game viewing. There are no drinks included in this package and the lodge runs a cash bar so please make sure you have enough cash available for your stay.
There is also the option of a Fly-in safari using either Phalaborwa or Hoedspruit Airports, with airport transfers included.

“Great service and tour”

David always answered to all my emails and questions very quickly. He provided great service and I also ended up really enjoying the tour that I booked through him to Kruger Park (3-day tour plus Blyde River Canyon). There are many tour operators in South Africa and it was hard for me to compare and choose one – if you are in the same position, look no further and book through African Blue Tours, you won’t regret it.

“Amazing 12 days in South Africa”
5 of 5 stars
Reviewed 7 June 2016
We have just returned after a 12 day trip to South Africa. Our entire trip- 3day Kruger Safari and Blyde River Canyon tour, Cape Town and 5 day garden route tour was entirely managed by David Smith and how well he managed it. Our tour guide for 7 days was Duncan Petre an excellent gentleman, professional, friendly and very flexible. His knowledge shows his passion for his profession. Travelling extensively with 2 kids is never easy but Duncan made it so and I must mention, David was himself present at the airport to pick us and he himself drove us back to the airport at 5.30 am in the morning for our return journey. I have never come across an owner who does this personally for his clients. Kudos to African Blue…..stay blessed and go miles guys….
