Come experience Africa’s wild animals only 3 hours from Cape Town in the Karoo veld at theInverdoorn Game Reserve, providing the opportunity to view Lion, Cheetah, Giraffes, Rhinos, Zebra, Buffalo, a variety of antelope species and more than 165 species of birds.
Travel through the Cape Winelands along the N1 and continue through the fruit growing region of Ceres before arriving at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve. At the reserve you are welcomed with a drink and some snacks.
Next you head off on your 2,5 – 3 hour game drive in an open-air 4×4 in search of wild animals. Return to the base camp where a buffet lunch waits for you. Spend some leisure time at the reserve where you can relax around the pool or even enjoy a game of French Boules. Later in the afternoon we return to Cape Town through the historic Huguenot Tunnel back into the Mother City.
That all safari options close to Cape Town are in newly established private game reserves and thus cannot be compared to a safari in a more established game viewing area like Kruger National Park which has been around for a hundred or so years. These options fill a very important role in the safari market by offering those persons who have never been on safari and who do not have the time to visit a more established reserve the chance to view Africas wild animals … sometimes for the first time.
Inverdoorn is not Halaal due to there being pork and alcohol on the premises, however the meat and chicken are sourced from Halaal certified suppliers.
The reserve is closed for day visitors on 25th December & 1st January each year.
This is a affiliate company product so the return road transfers are not always operated by African Blue Tours.

We booked two day tours with this company and both were perfect. The van was comfortable, the guides very friendly and knowledgeable, and the tours perfectly planned. David worked with us to plan a trip to the wine country and put together an itinerary that suited our needs. He went the extra mile to secure additional spaces for us on a tour to Inverdoorn, and the route he chose for our return to Cape Town was a highlight of our stay. I highly recommend this tour company !
